Flat placeboard for calm, gentle dog training
1. Gentle start & minimal stimulus
The ProPod Base 9 was developed for training situations where as little altitude as possible, as much safety as possible and a clear, calm training environment are required.
Due to its low height of approximately 9 cm, it is particularly suitable for dogs that are physically sensitive or require a particularly gentle introduction to placeboard training.
Especially for young dogs, insecure dogs or dogs with limitations, the Base 9 enables controlled movements without overexertion.
2. Clear training framework due to low-profile design
The flat design of the ProPod Base 9 gives the dog orientation without creating pressure.
The dog can safely mount, stand, and orient itself without being confronted with height, instability, or strong movement impulses.
This is especially helpful for:
Growing puppies
small dogs
sensitive dogs
Dogs with orthopedic or neurological impairments
Dogs that need to (re)develop trust in their bodies
3. Calmness in the process, safety in the work
Like all ProPod models, the ProPod Base 9 maintains the training flow without interrupting it.
Around the platform, one can work quietly, give instructions, or consciously take a break.
The training becomes clearer – without frantic corrections or unnecessary repetitions.
Especially for physically limited dogs, this calmness is a crucial factor for clean movements and sustainable training progress.
4. Supportive bodywork instead of overexertion
The ProPod Base 9 supports conscious, gentle bodywork.
Due to the low height, the following are possible:
controlled ascent and descent movements
gentle weight shifts
first coordination tasks
Implement safely – without putting unnecessary strain on the musculoskeletal system.
The board is therefore also suitable for accompanying work in physiotherapy or osteopathic contexts when low stimuli and maximum control are required.
5. Working all around – low & safe
The design of the ProPod Base 9 allows it to work from all directions without the dog encountering spatial or physical limitations.
Transitions, changes of direction and small training variations can be implemented smoothly and calmly – ideal for basic work and reorganization.
6. Optional pole work – deliberately reduced
Optional poles can be used with the ProPod Base 9 for specific purposes, e.g., for:
gentle coordination impulses
first overshooting movements
gentle building work
The focus remains deliberately on proximity to the ground and the base.

7. Safety & Surefootedness
The standing surface is equipped with a discreet, transparent anti-grip tape.
It offers a secure hold without visually dominating the natural wood surface.
An additional non-slip coating on the underside of the platform was deliberately omitted. A slippery surface remains slippery – for both the platform and the dog.
This decision follows the training logic that a secure stance can only be achieved where the dog can actually develop a firm grip.
8. Natural materials & conscious material selection
The ProPod Base 9 is made from solid, untreated wood.
We have refrained from using metal connecting elements and artificial surfaces in the body. The material appears calm, warm, and minimalist – a deliberate counterpoint to technical or highly stimulating training aids.
9. Classification within the ProPod line
The ProPod Base 9 is the flattest board in the ProPod family.
It is the right choice for:
sensitive and restricted dogs
Young dogs
small dogs
calm basic and reorganization work
It complements ProPod Core 12, Core 16 and Long 16 as the lowest, gentlest model within the line.
10. Attitude & Responsibility
Our pictures include a French Bulldog. This breed is – rightly so – criticized.
We would like to state clearly at this point:
We reject breeding practices that cause massive health problems in dogs at birth.
At the same time, we are convinced that the dogs who are already here deserve support, encouragement and a fair chance at the best possible life.
The dog in our pictures comes from the animal shelter.
He has severe physical limitations – and that is precisely why he is an example of why calm, well-thought-out and gentle training concepts are necessary.
